The ground vehicle operator reported that while driving behind the taxiing airplane, he looked to the left and did not see that the airplane began to turn off the taxiway toward the ramp. The ground vehicle operator continued driving forward and struck the airplane on the left side of the fuselage, which resulted in substantial damage.
