According to the pilot, during the landing roll, he was attempting to retract the flaps but inadvertently grabbed and moved the landing gear lever to the retracted position. Immediately after, the pilot recalled hearing the landing gear position warning horn and realized his mistake, but the landing gear down locks had already disengaged and the landing gear subsequently collapsed. The airplane slid down the runway before coming to rest to the right of the runway in a drainage ditch, resulting in substantial damage to the left wing. The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
