The pilot reported that he attempting to land at a grass airstrip. The airplane touched down midfield; however, the pilot was unable to stop the airplane’s forward movement due to wet grass and frost. The airplane subsequently struck a tree, which resulted in substantial damage to the right wing and left horizontal stabilizer. Subsequently, the pilot stated he should have touched down earlier on the runway.
The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
