The pilot reported that, he touched down left of the runway center line and the left wing struck corn on the left side of the runway. The pilot could not maintain directional control of the airplane and the airplane slid to the left into the corn field, and came to rest inverted. The airplane sustained substantial damage to the left and right wings. The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
