That's everything on file so far — TailWiki checks the FAA registry daily and adds new entries as N972WY's record changes.
The pilot of the tailwheel equipped airplane reported that he was attempting to land on an unimproved dirt strip. He encountered a slight tailwind when he crossed the runway threshold and while the airplane was fast he applied excessive braking. Subsequently, the airplane nosed over, which resulted in substantial damage to the forward fuselage and right-wing strut.
The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
